What's the difference between the cake decorating kit and cake kit?

Our Cake Kit includes everything you need to bake and decorate your cake from start to finish, including the cake mix, disposable cake pans, cake testing skewer, cake board and all the decorating supplies.

Our Cake Decorating Kit is designed for customers who have already baked or purchased a cake. It includes all the decorating supplies you need but does not include the cake mix, disposable cake pans, cake testing skewer or cake board.

What size cake should I buy or make for this kit?

Our Cake Decorating Kits are designed to fit standard round cakes. For the best results, we recommend using:

SMALL: 6-inch (15 cm) double layer, round cake

LARGE: 8-inch (20 cm) double layer, round cake

These sizes provide the ideal amount of surface area and height for the decorations included in the kit. If you're making your own cake, simply bake to one of the recommended sizes. If you're purchasing a cake, ask your local bakery for a cake that matches one of the sizes above.

Is this cake decorating kit suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. This decorating kit is specifically designed for beginner bakers, using simple baking and decorating techniques with full photo step-by-step guided instructions.

We bring our cake decorating expertise to our cake kits, and with that, know what tools work best for beginners. We only supply products that we too use for cake decorating, so you can be assured our products are of the highest quality.

What is the pre-made icing option?

Our pre-made icing is a ready-to-use, vegan and gluten-free buttercream that can be easily coloured and flavoured to suit your design. It has a silky smooth texture similar to Swiss meringue buttercream and is less sweet than our standard American buttercream recipe.

By choosing our pre-made icing, you won't need to buy ingredients or make buttercream from scratch. Simply colour it and start decorating.

This option is perfect for busy parents, beginner bakers, or anyone who wants to save time while enjoying a smooth, delicious buttercream that's easy to work with.

How early can I purchase my cake kit?

Our kit ingredients last roughly 3-6 months. If your celebration is within 3 months time then you can order your kit now and store it in the pantry until required.

If your celebration is greater than 3 months away, you can still order it now, just make sure you tick the 'extended baking date' box so we know to give you longer lasting ingredients (where possible).

What is the expected delivery timeframe?

Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be hand packed and dispatched, plus shipping time.
